New Orleans had been fun... and not just because he found out his baby brother had a hell of a lot of stamina in the sack. It had been nice to just hangout with Sam though, pretend like it was old times, like those memories that seemed way too far away now. Leaving had been a pretty big drag, but at least it gave Dean a little more freedom to pursue his other interests.
Hell had given him a love of torture and while he didn't need to do it up here, wasn't like a drug or anything, he enjoyed it. And as long as he was using it to drag out info from demons and monsters, he figured that Sam couldn't begrudge him his hobby. Not that Sammy knew... he didn't tend to mention where he went at night unless asked--then it was to the bar, driving around... didn't tend to use sex as much of an excuse anymore. He didn't really need to seek out anybody else when he could usually just climb on his baby brother. Yeah, he knew that was fucked up even for a demon, but he didn't care anymore.
He'd spent his entire life taking care of Sam, died for him... Stayed with him even like this. No one was going to tell him he couldn't cross one last line if Sam didn't seem to mind it, wanted it even.
Either way, Dean wasn't really interested in sleeping with anybody else recently and though it made things difficult, ate up his main excuse to be out until morning, he didn't regret it. He didn't know if Sam believed his new excuses as much, but he wasn't calling him out on them that much.
Mostly, he was drilling for info on Ruby and Lilith, trying to figure out what the hell they were up to. Came up short so far, which sucked. He didn't give as big a crap about Lilith really... he'd prefer it if Sam gave up on that particular crusade honestly. He wanted Ruby.
That was the bitch that needed to die and soon. She was keeping a low profile though, keeping out of sight. He'd find out her though and hopefully before she reached Sam. Figured it was only a matter of time before she came sniffing around for him.
Scrubbing a hand over his face as he walked the steps to their motel, Dean was entirely oblivious to the fact that the chick he'd been hunting all this time had done exactly what he'd been worried about... paid Sammy a visit while he wasn't there. He'd spent the night out again and it was early morning by the time he stepped in. He probably smelled like the whiskey he'd been drinking, smoke clinging to his clothes from the bar he'd been at most the night.
But he hadn't had his usual brand of fun last night. He'd kept it tame... just watched the demon he'd been tracking, one that hopefully had something useful. He hadn't got a chance to make his move on him, unfortunately, but that was alright. They were in town for a few days and he'd get him before he and Sammy had to drive out.
"Sammy?" He called out. "Brought some coffee and donuts, if you want some."
